Warcraft

Welcome to the World of Warcraft section of the site. This is where I keep some data about my characters and addons I use/create. Feel free to browse ;-).

New addon

20-Nov-11 19:18

I just  uploaded another addon. I have been using it already for some time, but now available for all.

Bigger Tradeskill UI

Further there is not a lot going on in WoW for me. Just some dailies and getting some more achievements.

Long time no see...

30-Apr-11 15:32

Hmm, yet a long time again no updates. Well there is also not a lot to say. Still playing and currently levelling my Hunter which is going fine.

On another note, LongTitleList and SkillbarOnTrainerUI just got obsolete with the 4.1 patch since they are now in the default UI.

BTW: Character updates still not working because I did not have interest enough yet to convert the autoupdate system  to using the files of another addon.

So there was this Cataclysm...

08-Jan-11 16:14

.. and it turned out pretty good.

So we are 1 month after the Cataclysm now. I got through the Goblin and Worgen starting areas and got Robsato to level 85. I still have a part of Twilight Highlands to do and a bit of Vash'ir.

I liked the Worgen starting area, it was nice story telling the allways went forward in a nice pace. I really liked the atmosphere in Gilneas. After the starting area I played a bit in Darkshore which has improved massively. Now my Worgen druid is on hold a bit. I am not sure what to do with him now. I was planning on going healing with him, but after a first attempt at healing RFC I think that healing is not my thing.

The Goblin was also nice, but more in a funny way. Lots of stuff blowing up. Personally I liked the Worgen area better. This could also be related to choosing a warrior Goblin. The warrior turns out to be boring (at least the first 12 levels). Other classes seems to have more of a Wow feeling for some reason. I think it is because of pretty graphics and more interesting mechanics than just hitting stuff.

Leveling Robsato to 85 was a breeze. I think is was even too easy. There was never some real challenge in it. But the new areas are very cool with some nice themes to it. Uldom got a bit annying sometimes with all the videos. Some things didn't really need the video and there were just too many of them.

Now I just need to finish leveling my Blacksmithing which is a pain to do. Especially now that those trainers want to be payed in Metal bars.

I also got my iLvl up to 331 now so I can enter Heroic dungeons to gear up further.

Purses update

14-Nov-10 18:41

Purses just got updated to v2.1. It will now mark the items that will preselected with a nice border.

Edit:
Added the screenshot. White corners are the markings that Purses adds when an item in on the preselection list.

My addons updated for 4.0.1

31-Oct-10 20:44

All still relevant addons on the site have now been updated for patch 4.0.1. These were mostly just TOC updates. Note that Purses has not been updated yet. I am busy adding a new feature so it is not in a state right now to upload.

Also for DanceMusic there is a "bug". Not really a bug but the WoW ingame music keeps on playing when the dancemusic is started. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about this.

Patch 4.0.1

20-Oct-10 18:32

So the start of the Cataclysm is near with patch 4.0.1. Overall I am pretty ok with all the changes. They mostly make life better, I don have to get used to all the new spells and mechanics on the different characters.

For this site it means no character updates for a while because the addon that I used to get all the data does not work yet for 4.0.1.

On a related note, all my addons just work with patch 4.0.1 as long as you tick the "Load out-of-date addons" box in the addons screen. I will be uploading versions with updated tocs shortly.

Also note that OnlySkillups has become obsolete as it is intergrated in the default UI now.

Massive addon update

17-Aug-10 20:31

I made a bunch of addons the last few months. I finally took some time to put them up on the site.

Here they are in alphabetical order

LfgAcceptTimeBar

This addon will add a bar to the LFG windows that shows the time in which everyone in the group must have accepted the random dungeon invite. I made it because I found it annoying to not know how much time was left. When fishing it is convenient to know if you can let the cast finish or not before having to click the LFG button.

PortalBoxLauncher

PortalBoxLauncher is an LDB launcher for PortalBox (so it requires PortalBox to be installed for it to be of any use). PortalBox gives a nice big screen with all available mage portals. I liked the screen, but not the minimap button, I much preferred to have a button on my Titanbar. Hence this addon.

Purses

Purses is an addon that can preselect a quest reward for daily quests. It was initially just meant for the Argent Tournament dailies to preselect the Champions Purse (hence the name Purses). But with a few tweaks it could be used for any daily.

ReplaceSocialButtonWithFriendsButton

This addon will replace the social button on the bottommenu with the new friends button.

The Social and Friends buttons basically do the same (they even have the same tooltip), so 1 button should be enough. Since I like the amount of online friends on the new friends button I decided to keep that one and move it over to the location of the social button.

The location of the new friends button distracts too much at its original position anyways.

This addon is also race for worst addon name ever.

Hmm, it's broken

10-Aug-10 19:03

Seems the automatic updates to the characters section is broken :-(

Luckily it only seems to impact the professions only. I guess it gets confused by the OnlySkillups addon. Need to investigate this sometime.

Bored and new addons

02-Jun-10 18:22

I am getting a bit bored with my current chars. Robsato has about all the stuff he can get (without raiding), I have done about every normal quest in the game (the normal ones, not counting raid/PvP/the old gear quests), so currently he is focusing on getting some of the PvP mounts. Actually PvP is quite nice as a distraction. Of course I am pretty bad at it, but I can improve my gear with all those shards that I have collected. Some battlegrounds still are a bit of a mystery on how to do those effectively, but I will learn.

Nomage is also a bit stuck. He maxed his jewelcrafting, so that is done. I got gear on a reasonable level. Only thing left is to get a complete HoR run to see what Sylvana has to say, but for some reason we never get to the end of the dungeon.

So recently I got into making some addons again. The first one is done, check it out on the OnlySkillups project page. Basically it adds a button to your tradeskill window to hide the gray recipes.

Nomage turns 80!

06-Apr-10 18:50

Woohoo, another toon at level 80. This time my first hordie; Nomage. I am going to gear him a bit so I can do the new 5-mans and see what Sylvanas has to say. Also there are a few Horde questhubs that I did not finish yet, so that is also still remaining.

Another month has passed

29-Mar-10 20:59

Well actually it has almost been 2 months.

Nomage is still levelling slowly by questing and dungeoneering. He is already at level 77 and hasn't even finished all the quests in Dragonblight. I guess I am going to skip a few zones to keep questing a bit challenging.

Rydael reached level 80. That was already some time ago, but I didn't mention it yet :-)

Robsato is going strong. I have been doing Heroics with him to get Emblems for new and better gear. Currently he has all the best stuff there is to buy with Triumphs, so basically I am still going for some Frost emblems for even better gear. I just need one more trinket for the Epic achievement. Actually I could cheat it by swapping my trinkets, but I want to do it the right way.

Robsato also got all the achievements for the "What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been" achievement, so that means I got the Violet Protodrake mount.

Time flies...

08-Feb-10 18:10

...when you are having fun. Nomage is already level 71 and has entered the frozen wastes of Northrend. Already getting very nice upgrades to the "old" BC gear. Also the daily dungeon quests already award Emblems of Triumph so when he reaches 80 there will be a nice piece of gear available for the Triumphs already earned.

Hurray, Nomage enters Outland

18-Jan-10 19:23

And again another charachter enters the Outlands, this time my fist Hordie. Since I don't really like Outland I am going to do only a few Horde only quests and level the rest by doing dungeons. Dungeons are awesome now since you can just queue from anywhere and you get teleported to the dungeon.

Data uploads fixed

30-Dec-09 16:47

Data uploads are working again.

No data updates

16-Dec-09 20:48

With the 3.3 patch the addon I use to automatically update this site broke. So the current data is old.

Will try to fix it during the holidays.

Keep on Tracking obsolete

09-Dec-09 17:59

I was reading through the patchnotes of 3.3 and noticed the following line:

Non spell-based tracking now persists through logout.

This makes my KeepOnTracking obsolete, so it has been removed from the site.

Gratz for Blizzard on fixing this :-)

Am I slow or what?

04-Nov-09 21:24

Omg, so much time, so little updates.

Well, what can I say. I had some other priorities. So what happend in the World of Warcraft the last few months.

  • Bigfix in KeepOnTracking
  • Started on some new addons, not sure if they ever will become public
  • Robsato got the achievements for Hallows End, so chance on the Violet Proto Dragon somewhere in Februari
  • Rydael is progressing nicely. He is level 75 now.
  • Levelling Aurela a bit until level 65 so she can learn the WotLK tailoring recipies so she can make the flying carpet mount.
  • Collecting pets has been going pretty good lately. I have almost all of the Horde Argent Tournament pets.
  • Got a pony (for my squire)
  • Got the brown hippogryph mount
  • Much much more (I guess), but I can't remember all of it :-(

Will there be more periodic updates?

Don't know, I hope so, but I won't promise anything.

Keep on tracking release

22-May-09 21:14

KeepOnTracking is a small addon that fixes a small annoyance for me. Some of the tracking type (like low leve quest tracking) gets reset to "none" when you logout. This is quite annoying. The KeepOnTracking addon fixes this.

Get it now

2 months of Wrath

15-Jan-09 22:03

So Wrath of the Lich King has been out for 2 months now. What happend?

Well I started levelling again :-). I got Drayeah to 80 this week, Robsato is on his way on level 76. Both going strong.

Drayeah started out in Borean Tundra then went on to Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills, Sholozar Basin and Storm Peaks. Robstato started in Howling Fjord then Dragonblight and now in Zul'Drak. Questing has been really  fun. Way better than vanilla or TBC. Lots of variation in quest, awesome events with the new vehicle system and much more. I also really love that you get quests in batches. Just a few at the time, in the old days you came into a village and 10 new quests were waiting, now you just get 3 or 4 and when you turn those in new ones appear. This makes questing a lot smoother.

Drayeah got to 80 without entering any dungeons. This is a bit too bad, cause it turns out dungeoning has become fun again. I kinda quit with dungeons after Gnomeregan. I just took way too long to do  a dungeon. I did The Nexus with Robsato and it was really fun, only a few bosses and not too much trash mobs. We got it down within an hour and it was really cool. I also had a very nice group, which is unfortunately not alwyas the case :-(.

Anyway, WotLK is good fun. Still toodo is getting exalted with a bunch of groups for the various vanity pets. With the upcoming 3.0.8 patch I will be able to buy the Gnome mounts os I will get the albine drake, which will be the first drake in my posession. And further I am looking into doing more dungeons and finishing a bunch of Outland quest. And of course finish Icecrown.

Ans last but not least I have been doing some site upgrades, not really noticable, but some polishing here and there. Hmm forgot to update the tooltips so they show enchants and gems :-(. Well, thats one thing more for the todo list.

Wrath of the Lich King

16-Nov-08 13:25

So, the Wrath of the Lich King has landed. So far it is awesome, I have Robsato in Howling Fjord and Drayeah in Borean Tundra.

I am really trying to not rush through all the quests and just take my time. I even disabled questhelper for this. The lauch went pretty well I think. No lag or other big problems like with TBC. Only sometimes too many people for a mob.

I also made a Death Knight and that starting area is great. You get to level pretty fast and get talents bit by bit so you are not too much overwhelmed at first.

I already saw one of my future goals. The penguin minipet :-).

BTW: I got no CE edition that I preordered, it got cancelled on release day :-(. Now that I see people walking around with the Frosty minipet I really know how much I wanted it.

Time for a semi-monthly update

01-Aug-08 20:03

I haven't played a lot due to holidays and severe computer problems :-(, but I still got the following done.

Aurela still going strong. She is now 56, so only 2 more levels for Outland. I decided to take another route than Drayeah so
Aurela went through Felwood and Winterspring. Now comes a bit of a dilemma, I was planning on levelling Aurela to 60 so she could get
her professions to the max, but it is a lot of fun to play her. So do I continue with her and try to get her through to 70
or should I wait with that until WotLK is out so levelling in Outland will be faster. Well at least first get her to 60.

Robsato got a Nether Ray Fry companion pet with the last patch. Unfortunately still no crocodile pet of the fishing daily :-(

Drayeah is still stuck in Outland since I haven't actually played her. I think I let her rest until WotLK is out with the
completely revamped Paladin class. Maybe it gets more fun being a Paladin then.

Things I can do before WotLK comes out:

  • Do more quests in Shadowmoon Valley and Netherstorm with Robsato.
  • Get alts to 30 for the mounts (Rydael, Nehram and Nomage most likely candidates to go first).
  • Start raiding with Eyes of Stormwind ? Looking for tanks, so maybe respec Robbie to see some of Kharazan. Need to get some dungeon experience first.
  • UBRS with Robsato just for fun.
  • Make simple action bar addon. Basically just like the Blizzard action bars but moveable and as many as jou want. All the action bar mods I tried take over the whole UI which I don't like.
I also released a new version of DanceMusic. Nothing major, it is mainly a toc update but it was needed to be able to
submit it for a possible Beta key for WotLK.

Well, thats all for now. Cya.

Need more updates :-)

29-Jun-08 15:48

Man, I really need to update this more. Too much to tell now :-)

Robsato got a bunch of new stuff since last update. It's so much that I am going to put it i a boring list.

  • Upgraded the Drakefist Hammer to Dragonmaw.
  • Exalted with Kurenai, which means he has a nice Riding Talbuk
  • Exalted with Shatari Skyguard, so a flying Nether ray (and soon a Nether Fry minipet)
  • Got the plans for the Switstell Shoulder, so soon new shoulders
  • Got the Summerfestival minipet
  • Got the Summer festival crown, not sure if I am going for the complete outfit or the dancing draenei
  • Got a Magical Crawdad minipet from my first Mr.Pinchy catch

Drayeah got a bit of stuck at level 66. For some reason it just got boring. The levelling takes too long and unfortunately it is doing the same quests as I did on Robsato. On Azeroth there is at least the possibility to explaore some new areas when levelling an Alt.

On the bright side, Aurela gained quite a few levels and is very fun to playso I just continue slowly with her.

With the next patch you will be able to get a mount at level 30, I am thinking about levelling all the Alts to level 30  and get them a mount. Then I might even choose one of the Horde Alts to level further to see things from the other side :-).

The epic flyer has landed

03-May-08 17:45

Finally, I got enough money to buy me an Epic flyer. I went for the purple one. Too bad that the Epic mounts look so much like each other, just different armour colors. The normal flying mounts really have a distinctive look from eachother. Anyways, Epic flying rocks. It is almost as fast as the normal gryphons since you can fly a straight line in stead of the scenic route. So pretty happy with my new toy, now I need to find another target :-) I guess I will first focus on levelling Drayeah a bit more.

During doing all the dailies I also got exalted with the Shattered Sun Offensive. Since I was saving for my mount I could resist buying all the nice Epics (I only bought the tabard since it looks cool). I got to take a better look at those Epics and see if there is something nice for me there.

And with the Childrens week I got all 6 pet rewards now. Robsato got the Peanut the little elek and Speedy the turtle and with Drayeah I got Whiskers the rat and Egbert the hawkstrider hatchling. I got the other 2 last year already. Hmm, I really should get that pets page up. Lets see if I have time for that this weekend.

PS: Also added tooltips for the quests.

Patch 2.4 + new addon

31-Mar-08 19:52

I really like the new 2.4 patch. The new island is cool. With the huge amount of players and fights it really feels like a war. Also the money that is coming in is a nice boost. It is also nice that the Nethers are not BoP anymore. This might even make it possible to upgrade my Drakefist Hammer to Dragonmaw. But with all the money pouring in now I think I might go for my Epic flyer first (if I can keep going for that long)

But as with all patches it means going through all addons and figure out if they are still working or not, downloading new versions etc... This time it was even more difficult since Curse seemed to be more down than up. Maybe it is time to get used to another addon site. But the good news on this is that I found a new brilliant addon. The addon is called TrinketMenu and can swap your trinkets in and out of the slots. This made me actually use all the trinkets that I am walking around with.

Powered by Wowhead

27-Feb-08 19:28

I finally took some time to get rid of the Allakhazam tooltips and the lookups on the Armory for some iteminfo (mainly Required level). Reasons for ditching the Allakhazam tooltips is that I don't really like the site and the Armory is just way too slow. Especially when I need to rebuild the cache which needs to do quite a lot of requests.

So right now all itemdata you see on this site is provided by Wowhead through the  tooltip api they offer. The changes are not that visible, but should provide a small speedboost. Especially because I also made a cache mechanism for the tooltips.

Drayeah ready for Outland

09-Feb-08 16:13

Woohoo, Drayeah reached level 58 and is ready for Outland. Already equipped with some gear drops from Robsato she should be ready to go. Lets see...

Drayeah before the Dark Portal

Patch 2.3

12-Dec-07 20:12

Some of my thoughts about the 2.3 patch (yeah I know, it's late). Overall I really like the patch. I did not explore the end-game content cause I am not really interested in that stuff. Although the new mounts are cool and maybe I will even get me sporebat minipet (when I get really bored).

The new quests in Dustwallow Marsh are great I went through that area with Drayeah and it was cool. A new questline that comes together with the "Missing diplomat" questline. I also discovered the Alcaz island, but that has probably always been there :-). Also the fait of the burned down inn on the border to the Barrens becomes clear and finally there is a nice questline with slaying a huge monster in the Theramore docks. The only thing that disappointed me was the Mudsprocket town. I expected it a lot bigger :-(.

On a side note, I don't really like the new highlighting of questgoals. In the past you really had to search for your goal, like finding the cages/chest/crate etc... Now when you come close there is this big yellow questionmark on the minimap or it has those tingling stars on it. It takes away the joy of finally finding what you are looking for :-(.

Now that all my chars are level 20 or above I also get to take advantage of the increased leveling speed between 20 and 60. It sure is a lot faster than before although I don't really like it that a lot of the elites are made non-elites. For example Dun Modr and Stromgarde keep are just not the same without it. It was no real challenge when I went there :-(.

But overall it is cool stuff :-)

All @ 20. Hurray !!

13-Nov-07 19:59
Just in time for the 2.3 patch I got all my alts on Stormrage to lvl 20. Last one was the orc shaman (Edyn). I really didn't like the first 10 levels and was doubting if I could continue with her to 20. I am glad I did, the shaman is now one of my favorite classes :-). Anyway it really helps to undertand other classes. I was glad I did this. Now lets see what the 2.3 patch brings.

Wazzup

05-Nov-07 21:16

Well, lets add some news again. I really liked the Brewfest, Robsato got a nice new outfit, just too bad that the Iron Dwarves attack was disabled :-(. I didn't catch a lot of Hallows end this year. Although I really liked the quests in the starting areas. Fighting fire was a really refreshing change from normal WoW quests.

Currently I am busy levelling all of my alts on Stormrage to lvl 20 to get a better feeling for all the classes. Only my shaman is left, I just got to find another levelling area, cause the Barrens is getting really old.

Well, got nothing more to say, so bye for now.

Gutrot dings 70 !!!

30-Sep-07 19:59

Gutrot the man that levelled without armor or weapons just turned 70. He invited everyone to celebrate his dinging at the Sen'Jin beach. I decided to go since I had a character on the server anyway. Man there were a LOT of naked trolls out there. The "Gutrot Party Crew" guild filled up with 500 members pretty soon which seemed to be the limit. A bit later Gutrot showed up. To bad I didn't see him actually ding, but hey it was already great to be at the event :-). Luckily the server went only down once.

After the ding we went to Stormwind. It was great to be on one zeppelin with over a hundred trolls. After a short swim we reached Westfall and continued to Goldshire and then went for te gates of Stormwind. I got surprisingly far. I came to the tunnel leading from the "Trade district" to the "Old Town" part of SW. After some corpse runs I decided to call it a night, but others made it to the keep and the tram.

This was a truly epic event. I will be there again when Gutrot reaches 80. Below is a short movie I put together. I will post some pics later.

See the forumthread on the WoW EU forums for more details/screenies etc...

Gear section working again

02-Sep-07 23:12
After a bit of research it became clear that the data from the Armory is now split up in multiple parts (character sheet, skills, reputation). Because of this the character information still works. So I have re-enabled it. For the skills and reputation section I will be converting those to use data from the rpgoProfiler data instead of using the Armory. That data only changes when I play and the upload of the rpgoProfiler data is automated anyway, so it is not really neccesary to request that data from an external website everytime.

Data missing due to Armory update

22-Aug-07 19:03
Blizzard has updated the Armory, which is now blazing fast. This is great of course, but it also means that the data on the site that comes from the Armory will not be available until phpArmory gets updated :-(
